Present condition of the Project
1-1. Explain the general condition of
the field/industry in Malaysia
As the developing country, we need to grow our industry area
to achieve our vision to be Developed Country in Year 2020. In order to achieve
that vision, The Centre for instructor and Advanced Skill Training (CIAST) as a
training provider we have a big responsibility to train the new generation
people and industrial workers to get knowledge and skill in specific area. In
CIAST we have trained about 300 full time student and 3 451 participant (2001)
per year.
1-2. Describe your scope of work
Teaching on welding area covering theory and practical for 60
person full time student
(3 years) and modular courses about 200 participant per year.
As the National Expert my duties are to prepare and trained National
Competitors for World Skill Competition and Asean Skill Competition.
2. Describe urgency of this project
Since the World Skill Competition will be held in Switzerland
in June 2003 and we will send our national competitor, so we really need a new
and suitable equipment urgently to fulfill required skill for that competition.
At the moment we are using old equipment (not suitable for higher level
training).
